A once in a life time opportunity this is a very rare and wonderful McQueen dress! Only three of these were made for the North American market and it was the star of the Resort 2010 runway show. It was made even more infamous when Drew Barrymore wore it on the red carpet and it was also the star of the Fashion Relief for Haiti and Tribute to Alexander McQueen combined fundraiser put on in NYC b Naomi Campbell. Style.com noted especially the "the line had a bit of romance in the form of lace overlays as delicate as insect wings" and "was inspired by the notion of an artist in his studio." The dress is stunningly beautiful and a tribute to his tailoring skills and execution of the fantasy into the a dress a girl can actually wear. A hand embroidered overlay on silk net gives the appearance of a "tattoo" that covers the dress from tip to toe. Under this is a highly structured dress with a corseted bodice and insanely full, layered skirt. I could not resist taking a shot of the skirt from an angle where you can see just how much fabric was ised! I love the cut of the shoulders and neckline - a subtle and sexy McQueen touch. The combination of meticulous detailing and stark rawness was part of the genius of McQueen and it lives on in this stunning dress. Excellent condition and was meticulously stored since it's purchase.
